UGI Utilities, Inc. announced that its purchased gas cost rates will remain unchanged on June 1, 2025, with a potential modest increase projected for December 1, 2025. The anticipated rate adjustment, which requires Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) approval, would marginally impact customer bills across residential, commercial, and industrial segments.
Under state regulations, utilities like UGI are mandated to pass natural gas commodity costs directly to customers without markup. The proposed December rate modification would result in minimal bill increases: residential heating customers could see a 1.1% rise, commercial customers a 1.4% increase, and industrial customers a 1.5% adjustment.
For a typical residential heating customer using 73.7 hundred cubic feet of natural gas monthly, the bill would increase from $112.23 to $113.45. Similarly, commercial customers using 28.3 thousand cubic feet would experience a bill change from $333.24 to $337.83, while industrial customers consuming 75.4 thousand cubic feet would see their monthly bill rise from $840.06 to $852.29.
The rate stability and minimal projected increase reflect UGI's commitment to transparent pricing and compliance with regulatory requirements. Customers can expect predictable pricing with only slight variations in their natural gas expenses.
