Vibes Massage & Spa has been named the winner in two categories of the 2026 Favorites of the Foothills Reader's Choice Awards: Favorite Massage/Spa Center and Favorite Aesthetician. The Tryon Daily Bulletin announced the winners in August 2026. The Columbus, NC-based spa has now earned the Favorite Massage/Spa Center title for three consecutive years, while this is its first year winning Favorite Aesthetician.
The annual awards invite readers to vote for their favorite local businesses, people and organizations across Polk County, NC, including Tryon, Columbus, Saluda and Mill Spring, as well as nearby Landrum and Campobello in upper Spartanburg County, SC. The newspaper reported that thousands of ballots were cast this year, underscoring the breadth of community participation behind the results. The full list of winners is available on the Tryon Daily Bulletin website.
For Vibes Massage & Spa, the dual recognition reflects a sustained local following rather than a one-time surge. The spa offers massage therapy, esthetician services, reflexology, and manicures and pedicures along with other spa treatments at its Columbus location, giving local clients access to a range of services in one space. That combination of offerings may help explain why readers have repeatedly placed the business at the top of the massage and spa category while also elevating its aesthetician services for the first time.
The results carry implications beyond the spa itself. Reader-choice awards in smaller markets often serve as a signal of consumer trust and can influence where residents and visitors spend discretionary income on personal care. For the broader Foothills business community, the awards highlight the competitive value of local reputation, particularly for service businesses that depend on repeat customers and word-of-mouth referrals across county and state lines. The recognition also spotlights the role of the Tryon Daily Bulletin in convening thousands of readers around local commerce, a function that can shape visibility for small businesses throughout the region.
