VinFast and GSM have announced significant leadership changes, with Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh and Mr. Pham Nhat Minh Hoang assuming key roles, succeeding Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong and Ms. Pham Thu Huong. The appointments, effective immediately, come as the companies accelerate global expansion and transition to a younger generation of leaders.
Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh, previously Chairman of VinFast Global, will now serve as CEO of VinFast Global, while also taking on the roles of Chairman and CEO of VinFast Vietnam. He succeeds Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, who had been the driving force behind VinFast's electric vehicle ambitions. In a statement, Mr. Quan Anh expressed gratitude for the board's trust, saying, "I am deeply honored by the Board of Directors' trust and confidence in entrusting me with the additional responsibility. Built on a strong foundation established over the years and supported by the growing confidence of customers across our markets, VinFast is well positioned to seize the significant opportunities ahead." Born in 1993, he holds a Bachelor's degree from Singapore Management University and has held leadership roles across the Vingroup ecosystem. He will also continue as CEO of VinMetal Trading and Production JSC.
At GSM, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan, formerly CEO of GSM Global, has been appointed Chairman of GSM Global, succeeding Ms. Pham Thu Huong. Mr. Pham Nhat Minh Hoang, born in 2000, will become CEO of GSM Global and concurrently CEO of GSM Vietnam. Mr. Hoang has held senior positions at VinFast, Green Future, VinSmart Future, and GSM, and is a major shareholder in several Vingroup companies, including VinSpeed, VinEnergo, and VinMetal.
The leadership shake-up is part of Vingroup's broader strategy to train and promote in-house talent as its companies enter a period of strong global growth. VinFast currently operates in 16 countries, including Vietnam, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Europe, the Middle East, and North America, with manufacturing facilities in Vietnam, Indonesia, and India. GSM, which operates the Green SM electric taxi brand, serves seven countries and plans to expand to at least three more markets this year. GSM also aims to list on an international stock exchange.
These changes are crucial as VinFast and GSM intensify their international expansion. The transition to younger leaders reflects Vingroup's confidence in its next generation to drive innovation and competitiveness in the global electric vehicle and mobility markets. For customers and investors, the new leadership is expected to maintain continuity while injecting fresh perspectives to navigate challenges and capitalize on opportunities in sustainable transportation. As VinFast and GSM continue to grow, the appointments will be closely watched for their impact on the companies' performance and the broader EV industry.
