Vinhomes has unveiled the master plan for Vinhomes Global Gate Ha Long, a 6,200-hectare integrated urban development adjacent to the UNESCO-listed Ha Long Bay. This project, the company's largest to date, signals a paradigm shift in measuring urban success: not by sheer size but by the value delivered per hectare to residents and the environment.
The concept of large-scale development has traditionally been quantified by acreage, with projects spanning 2,500 acres or more considered ambitious. However, as the OECD highlights, future cities must address climate change, population growth, and mobility by connecting people to jobs and services, enhancing climate resilience, and integrating nature into urban infrastructure. Vinhomes Global Gate Ha Long is designed to embody these principles, positioning itself as a fully integrated city at the crossroads of northern Vietnam's tourism, industrial, and logistics corridors.
The project's strategic location along the Hanoi–Hai Phong–Quang Ninh Expressway and near the future depot of the Hanoi–Quang Ninh high-speed railway, which will connect to the capital in about 23 minutes, is pivotal. This connectivity enables a daily commute between metropolitan Hanoi and the UNESCO-listed landscape, reshaping regional mobility. The city plan reduces distances between living, working, learning, and essential services, embedding transportation, education, healthcare, commerce, and hospitality within a unified environment.
Residents will have uninterrupted views of Ha Long Bay and access to clean air and extensive waterfronts. The residential offerings span villas, townhouses, shophouses, and high-rise apartments across six districts. Sustainability is a core pillar, with over 2,500 hectares dedicated to green spaces, water bodies, and mangroves, including 680 hectares of naturally filtered seawater, roughly 200 kilometers of coastline, and the 660-hectare Globe Ha Long Forest Park. These ecological assets support biodiversity, climate resilience, and healthier living, aligning with Vinhomes' ESG++ vision for regenerative urban development.
The city's amenities are extensive. Culture and entertainment include a 60,000-seat outdoor waterfront venue, the 3,000-seat Wonder Theatre, an 81-hectare VinWonders destination with plans for the world's largest aquarium park, an international convention center for over 4,500 guests, and an 18.5-hectare Vietnamese Cultural and Culinary Village. Hospitality and leisure feature internationally managed luxury hotels, integrated casino facilities, a 950-hectare golf complex with 12 courses, an 800-hectare mangrove recreational park, and Wonder Marina for direct bay access.
Commerce is anchored by Vincom Mega Mall, premium outlets, and Vincom Collection retail streets, creating a 24-hour retail and dining environment. Sports and wellness include a 13.3-hectare Sports District, a professional sports academy, and over 50 kilometers of cycling routes. Health and education are served by the 14-hectare Vinmec Cleveland Clinic International Hospital, Vin New Horizon senior living center, Golden Residence retirement villas, Vinschool campuses, an American international school, and Wonder Young Hub for youth development. A new central business district with office towers up to 45 stories aims to attract businesses and reinforce Ha Long as an economic hub.
Vinhomes Global Gate Ha Long is aligned with ISO 37125, the international standard for sustainable urban development, and incorporates Vingroup's ESG++ approach, extending beyond environmental protection to ecological regeneration, resource efficiency, digital governance, and community wellbeing. Smart technologies, including AI and IoT, will optimize city operations, while green mobility systems enhance sustainability.
