Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR, OTC: WSRIF, FRA: 4K2) has significantly advanced its U.S. tungsten strategy, assembling a portfolio of three past-producing tungsten assets in Nevada and New Mexico. The company has moved beyond acquisition to focus on disciplined execution, with drilling planned for 2026 at its Eagle Point project in New Mexico.
Since the end of 2025, Western Star has expanded the Rowland Tungsten Property by approximately 170%, acquired the adjacent White Star Tungsten Project, and obtained a 100% interest in the Eagle Point Tungsten Project. The company has completed modern exploration programs, including high-resolution UAV magnetic geophysical work and surface sampling, identifying a one-kilometre tungsten-skarn geochemical corridor at Rowland with peak soil results of approximately 1,425 ppm WO3.
Eagle Point stands out due to its historical production of approximately 1,800 tons of scheelite-bearing material and historical U.S. Government estimates outlining significant near-surface tungsten mineralization. Modern USGS sampling has returned up to 27.6% WO3 and 0.98% molybdenum in selective samples. The project features eight historically mapped skarn bodies, yet has seen very limited historical drilling.
Western Star's objective at Eagle Point is to test the historically identified mineralization using modern exploration techniques and, if data supports it, advance toward a maiden mineral resource estimate in accordance with NI 43-101. The company plans to drill the principal mineralized zones, investigate grade and continuity, and test extensions along strike and at depth.
Blake Morgan, President and CEO, emphasized that the project is not starting from first principles. "Eagle Point has historical production, historical U.S. Government exploration, multiple skarn bodies exposed at surface, and modern USGS sampling that returned up to 27.6% WO3," he said. "Our goal is to bring modern exploration standards to that historical opportunity."
The company has engaged Dahrouge Geological Consulting to assist with technical evaluation and drill targeting across its portfolio. Subject to permitting and other considerations, Western Star targets a maiden drill program at Eagle Point during 2026.
Western Star has also expanded its Nevada position, with Rowland moving toward drilling and White Star providing a district-scale opportunity. The company closed an oversubscribed private placement of approximately C$3.69 million and has submitted an application to a U.S. Defense Industrial Base Consortium solicitation relating to strategic critical minerals.
The strategy is to define, then expand. Western Star aims to validate the historical geological model, drill the identified mineralization, and potentially advance toward a maiden resource estimate. The company believes this positions it to contribute to a secure North American critical-mineral supply chain.
Historical production and estimates referenced are not necessarily indicative of future results and have not been independently verified. A Qualified Person has not completed sufficient work to classify them as current mineral resources or reserves.
