Viromed Medical AG, a German medical technology company specializing in cold plasma technology, has signed distribution partnerships for its ViroCAP® product in six new markets, significantly expanding its international footprint. The agreements cover Spain, Portugal, Greece, the Balkan region, Romania, and Saudi Arabia, and were concluded with six separate companies, each responsible for an individual market. Under the terms of the contracts, minimum purchase quantities have been agreed, and Viromed expects additional sales of at least 3,000 devices per year from these partnerships.
ViroCAP® is a mobile medical device that uses cold atmospheric plasma to treat skin conditions. It is designed for use in hospitals, private practices, and by surgically active medical specialists. The device represents Viromed's core technology and is central to its growth strategy.
Uwe Perbandt, Chief Executive Officer of Viromed Medical AG, highlighted the strategic importance of the new agreements. “With these new distribution partners, we are opening up several attractive markets in Southern and South-Eastern Europe as well as in the Middle East. The strong interest shown by our distribution partners underlines the high demand for our cold plasma technology. The new distribution partnerships are another important step in the implementation of our dynamic growth phase. Partnerships for additional countries are in preparation and are expected to be signed within the next four to six weeks,” he said.
This expansion builds on Viromed's existing international network. The company already has numerous distribution and marketing partnerships, including an exclusive distribution agreement with South Korea's UMECO covering ten Asian countries, and a distribution partnership with TriPart TITAN GmbH & Co. KG for the Turkish market. These latest deals further diversify Viromed's revenue streams and reduce reliance on its home market in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
The announcement comes as Viromed continues to execute its growth phase since its stock exchange listing in October 2022. The company, through its wholly owned subsidiary Viromed Medical GmbH, focuses on the distribution of innovative cold plasma technology for medical applications. With a broad customer base in the DACH region and beyond, Viromed aims to advance the use of cold plasma in medicine and realize its growth potential.
The new distribution partnerships are expected to contribute significantly to Viromed's sales volumes. The minimum purchase quantities agreed in each contract provide a baseline for revenue projections, and the expected additional 3,000 devices per year represent a substantial increase over current sales figures, though the company did not disclose existing sales numbers.
Cold plasma technology is gaining traction in medical applications for its ability to promote wound healing and treat skin conditions without significant side effects. Viromed's expansion into Southern and South-Eastern Europe and the Middle East positions it to tap into growing demand for advanced medical technologies in these regions.
