Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) announced results from a Phase 2 soil geochemical survey at its Rowland Tungsten Property in Elko County, Nevada, defining two discrete tungsten-in-soil anomalies that expand the zones around historical workings. The survey collected 315 soil samples and returned a peak value of 4,240 ppm W (0.53% WO3) at sample R079, located 250 metres from the nearest historical working on ground with no recorded past activity.
“These results show the methodical exploration approach is paying off,” said Blake Morgan, CEO and President of Western Star. “The strongest result came from ground nobody has tested.”
The Rowland Main anomaly comprises 18 samples across a footprint of approximately 190 by 630 metres, with six samples exceeding 100 ppm W. Sample R079 also returned 66.9 ppm Sn, the highest tin value in the survey, indicating a tungsten-tin association consistent with a greisen-modified skarn system. The Northern Zone B anomaly covers 190 by 190 metres, peaking at 228 ppm W, and lies close to rock-chip samples that returned 0.35% to 1.22% WO3 as announced in July 2026.
The two anomalies occupy different geophysical settings. Northern Zone B lies within a modelled intrusive body resolved by a three-dimensional magnetic inversion completed by East Coast Consulting, while Rowland Main is associated with an interpreted magnetic-high lineament. Soil geochemistry from the nearby White Star Tungsten Project remains pending.
These results matter because they refine drill targets across the consolidated Jarbidge-Charleston tungsten footprint, potentially leading to a significant tungsten discovery in a region with historical production. Tungsten is a critical mineral used in defense, aerospace, and industrial applications, and domestic supply is limited. The high-grade soil sample at Rowland Main, located away from historical workings, suggests the potential for a new zone of mineralization. For investors, the definition of two coherent anomalies provides tangible vectors for upcoming drilling, which could unlock value if confirmed. The company plans to integrate these soil results with UAV magnetic survey and rock-chip data to advance drill target generation.
