Following the success of last year's 'Woljang' competition, Winnerz, a blockchain sports platform, has officially launched the Winnerz Fighting Championship (WFC) as a regular Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) league. The inaugural event, WFC1, is scheduled to occur on June 15 at the Winnerz Sports Center in Gangnam, Seoul. This competition will be broadcasted live on the Winnerz official YouTube channel.
WFC1 marks the first official MMA competition organized by Winnerz, offering amateur fighters a unique opportunity to showcase their skills and passion on a grand stage. Matches are being finalized in real-time, with submission windows open from May 20 to June 9.
An official from Winnerz stated, "The WFC1 tournament will provide amateur fighters with an opportunity to compete in the best circumstances. A cage at a state-of-the-art facility inside the Winnerz Sports Center in Gangnam, Seoul was designed to allow fighters to perform at their best."
The vision of Winnerz extends beyond just being a sports platform. The company plans to host professional MMA competitions and special matches in the future to raise funds for community service. This initiative aims to offer more opportunities for fighters, deliver exciting matches for fans, and maximize the positive impact of sports through social donations and player sponsorships.
Winnerz is also introducing an innovative sponsorship voting system powered by blockchain technology. This system allows fans to directly sponsor sports players through blockchain-based voting, ensuring that all sponsorship details are transparently disclosed. This approach aims to enhance the transparency and reliability of sports sponsorships while providing stable support for athletes.
"We will continue to carry out various activities that contribute to society while giving hope and inspiration to people through sports, and we are bringing innovation to create a fair and transparent culture of sponsorship for sports players through blockchain technology. We ask for your interest and support in this WFC1 competition," a Winnerz representative noted.
