Wrap Technologies Expands Non-Lethal Platform Amid Regulatory Boost and Drone Detection Deal

Wrap Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: WRAP) is building global momentum for its WrapShield public safety platform, driven by a key regulatory ruling, a strategic technology acquisition, and continued adoption by law enforcement agencies. The company reported approximately $1.2 million in international orders and reaffirmed a target of roughly 100% year-over-year revenue growth in 2026.

On the regulatory front, ATF Ruling 2026-2, effective July 2, 2026, classified the BolaWrap 150 as a federally recognized instrument of restraint rather than a firearm or “any other weapon.” This classification may remove longstanding procurement barriers across law enforcement, corrections, and government markets, helping agencies transition from extended evaluations to department-wide programs.

In a strategic transaction, WRAP acquired exclusive U.S. and NATO distribution rights to Frenel Imaging Ltd.’s Division of Focal Plane (DoFP) polarimetric sensing technology. This Israeli AI-based sensing technology detects drones by their physical light-scattering signatures rather than radio-frequency emissions, enabling detection even after a drone stops transmitting. WRAP describes this as the detection layer of its emerging WrapShield platform.

The company is positioning a three-component Non-Lethal Response architecture: the BolaWrap 150 handheld restraint, the Wraptor MX multi-shot platform (with its first operational prototype and early-adopter program), and the developing DFR-X drone-deployed restraint, all around a common operating framework.

Wrap Technologies entered the third quarter of 2026 reporting continued adoption of its Non-Lethal Response system across public safety agencies. For agencies adopting these tools, the measure of success is that a tense encounter ends with everyone going home safely. This standard sits at the center of WRAP’s pitch to public safety buyers.
