Alward Fisher, a Northern Michigan law firm based in Traverse City, has hired Lauren E. Trible-Laucht, the city’s former top legal counsel, the firm announced. Trible-Laucht joins after 15 years as Traverse City’s city attorney, a role in which she served as in-house general counsel to municipal departments, officials, and the city commission.
Her experience covers a broad range of legal areas, including property transactions, development agreements, ordinance drafting and enforcement, labor and employment, municipal governance, zoning and land use, contracts, and litigation. That background could give Alward Fisher a competitive edge as Northern Michigan sees increased development and regulatory activity.
Edward Price, the firm’s managing partner, said he was honored to have Trible-Laucht join the team. “Lauren is an incredible addition to the team,” he said. “We admire her sharp legal experience, as well as her devotion to the Traverse City community. At Alward Fisher, our mission is to provide peace of mind to our clients, whether they’re struggling with a divorce, a business dispute, financial trouble, estate planning, or criminal law matters. We believe Lauren is the perfect attorney to further that mission.”
Trible-Laucht said she is looking forward to the new role. “I’m very proud to join Alward Fisher,” she said. “I have spent the last 15 years assisting the Traverse City community address some very big issues. I’m looking forward to putting my skills to work for clients in Northern Michigan in a whole new capacity.”
Before her tenure with the city, Trible-Laucht was an associate attorney with Jon H. Kingsepp PLLC, where she served as assistant city attorney for the City of Clawson. She represented municipal and private clients in litigation, contract negotiations, and labor matters. She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School in 2008 after serving as a judicial intern to U.S. District Judge Gerald E. Rosen in the Eastern District of Michigan. She was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan that same year.
Earlier, she earned a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Kalamazoo College in 2002 and studied law, constitutional law, and German at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn, Germany, as a Kalamazoo College Fellow.
Alward Fisher handles banking, business and corporate law, civil litigation, criminal defense, estate planning and probate, family law, and real estate law. Its team includes 14 attorneys with over 100 years of combined legal experience. The addition of Trible-Laucht, whose profile is available on the firm’s website, deepens that bench at a time when businesses and individuals in the region face complex legal challenges.
For clients and the broader legal market, the hire signals that Alward Fisher is investing in high-level expertise, particularly in municipal and land-use matters where Trible-Laucht’s experience is rare. Her move from public service to private practice could also influence how local governments and developers approach legal strategy in the years ahead.
