Branicks Creditors Back Restructuring With 99% Vote, Extending 595 Million Euros in Debt

Creditors of Branicks Group AG have voted overwhelmingly to restructure the German real estate company's liabilities, with 99% of votes cast in favor of the plan, according to a company announcement carried by NEWMEDIAWIRE. The decision covers a 400 million euro corporate bond originally due in 2026 and endorses the financial restructuring plan the company developed for itself.

The vote matters because it buys the Frankfurt-listed landlord several more years to operate without the immediate pressure of maturing debt. Under the plan, 375 million euros in liabilities arising from bonds, promissory note loans and registered bonds will mature on September 30, 2030, while an additional 220 million euros will fall due on September 30, 2028. That shifts roughly 595 million euros of obligations into the next decade.

Branicks, formerly known as DIC Asset AG, is a specialist for office and logistics real estate with more than 25 years in the market. As of June 30, 2026, it managed properties with a market value of 10.1 billion euros across its Commercial Portfolio and Institutional Business segments. The company operates a national and regional platform with nine offices in major German markets, including VIB Vermögen AG.

"Our creditors' vote is a sign of confidence in our restructuring plan. With the time we've gained, we can now refocus fully on our business and use our resources and expertise to capitalize on opportunities in what remains a challenging market for us," said Josef Schultheis, Chief Restructuring Officer at Branicks Group AG.

The approval is not yet the final step. Branicks said a number of technical requirements for implementation still need to be clarified in the coming weeks, with the goal of the restructuring plan taking effect by the end of the 2026 fiscal year, or by March 31, 2027, at the latest. For investors and tenants, that means a period of legal and administrative work before the extended maturities become binding.

Separately, the company announced it has terminated, by mutual agreement, consulting agreements with MDC Matthias Danne Consulting GmbH and BLACKLAKE Management Partners GmbH, whose managing directors are Supervisory Board members Dr. Matthias Danne and Dr. Johannes Conradi. Both firms notified Branicks that they have each entered into service agreements with a company financed by the creditors. The move removes a potential governance concern as the restructuring proceeds.

For the wider German commercial property sector, the vote offers a signal that lenders and bondholders are willing to grant breathing room to leveraged landlords rather than force distressed sales. Branicks said it remains committed to sustainability, citing top positions in ESG-relevant ratings such as Morningstar Sustainalytics and S&P Global CSA, and its status as a signatory to the UN Global Compact and UN PRI network.
