Cure Alzheimer's Fund has expanded its Board of Directors by appointing three prominent business leaders: Mary Greenhill Cagliero, Mark Faggiano, and Kumar Mahadeva. Each new board member brings significant professional experience and a deeply personal motivation to combat Alzheimer's disease.
Mary Greenhill Cagliero, with a background in investment banking and entrepreneurship, joins the board with a connection to the disease through her mother's experience. Mark Faggiano, known for founding and leading TaxJar to a successful acquisition by Stripe, was inspired by his father's battle with Alzheimer's. Kumar Mahadeva, founder of Cognizant Technology Solutions, also has a personal stake, having lost his father to the disease.
The appointments signal the organization's commitment to leveraging diverse leadership and expertise in its mission to fund groundbreaking Alzheimer's research. Since its founding in 2004, Cure Alzheimer's Fund has provided 927 grants totaling more than $223 million to over 300 researchers worldwide.
These strategic board additions come at a critical time when Alzheimer's research continues to seek innovative approaches to understanding, preventing, and potentially reversing the disease. The new members' professional backgrounds in technology, entrepreneurship, and finance could provide valuable perspectives in advancing the organization's research initiatives.
