Daegu's FIX 2024 Tech Expo Showcases Future-Shaping Innovations

Daegu Metropolitan City launched FIX 2024, a four-day expo showcasing future-shaping technologies, on October 23 at Daegu EXCO. The event, running until October 26, brings together 463 companies and 2,071 booths, making it South Korea's largest tech gathering.

Under the slogan 'Better Tech, Better Future,' FIX 2024 serves as a comprehensive innovation technology platform, covering future mobility, robotics, and ABB (AI, Big Data, Blockchain). Global industry leaders such as Tesla, Hyundai Mobis, ABB Korea, SK, and KT are exhibiting their latest technologies alongside international conferences featuring experts from Nvidia and UCLA's RoMeLa.

The economic impact of FIX 2024 is projected to be substantial, with the Daegu Policy Institute forecasting a production ripple effect of KRW 933.2 billion, added value of KRW 262.6 billion, and the creation of 3,263 jobs. This economic boost is supported by enhanced business programs, including export consultations and buyer meetings.

Highlights of the expo include Tesla's Cybertruck, Hyundai's SPACE Mobility concept car, and Hyundai Mobis's MOBION in the Mobility Hall. The event also features a UAM Special Experience Center, offering attendees the chance to experience a full-size UAM aircraft simulator from SK Telecom.

The robotics sector showcases advancements from companies like HD Hyundai Robotics and ABB Korea, with RoMeLa's latest bipedal robot, ARTEMIS, making its Korean debut. In the ABB sector, companies such as SK, KT, and AWS are presenting cutting-edge technologies, including XR-based content experiences.

A new addition to FIX 2024 is the Start-up Arena, featuring the Plug and Play Korea Expo. This segment includes startup pitches, lectures by global speakers, and panel discussions, highlighting the event's focus on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship.

The expo's conference program brings together 81 experts from 13 countries to discuss trends in mobility, ABB, robotics, and emerging industries. Keynote speakers include executives from Hyundai Motors, LG Electronics, and NAVER, as well as academic leaders in AI and robotics.

FIX 2024 also emphasizes business development through export consultation meetings with over 200 international buyers, a job fair featuring major companies, and investment briefings. These initiatives aim to strengthen Daegu's position in the global tech industry and attract investment to the region.

Daegu Mayor Joon-pyo Hong expressed his hope that FIX 2024 will position Daegu as a leader in Korea's industrial transformation and establish it as a globally recognized future-leading city. The event's focus on fostering collaboration between large corporations and startups underscores its potential to drive innovation and economic growth in the region and beyond.
