Dubai to Host 9th Knowledge Summit 2024 Focusing on Future Skills and AI Economy

Dubai is set to host the 9th Knowledge Summit on November 18-19, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, focusing on 'Future Skills and the Artificial Intelligence Economy.' Organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the summit will bring together international experts in artificial intelligence, technology, economics, education, and environmental fields.

The event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aims to address critical challenges facing societies, including human skills development and the role of AI in shaping various industries. His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, emphasized the summit's role in positioning Dubai as a global hub for knowledge and innovation.

A key highlight of the summit will be the release of the Global Knowledge Index (GKI) 2024, a comprehensive resource for countries' development strategies. The event will also honor winners of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award, recognizing significant contributions to human welfare and development.

In a first for the Arab region, the summit will host the 3rd UNESCO World Conference on Open Educational Resources, bringing together ministers and decision-makers to enhance digital cooperation. Additionally, the inaugural meeting of the Global Alliance for Skills Development will take place, alongside the introduction of the Future Skills Academy, aimed at empowering Arab individuals through educational programs focused on future skills.

The summit's agenda includes interactive sessions and workshops covering topics such as AI's potential to drive economic growth, eco-innovations for sustainability, cybersecurity strengthening, and AI in space exploration. Coursera, a global learning platform, will conduct panel discussions on AI's impact on education systems, including adult education, vocational training, and higher education innovation.

This event underscores Dubai's commitment to integrating AI across sectors and supporting digital transformation. It represents a significant opportunity for international collaboration in AI, knowledge, technology, and entrepreneurship, aligning with efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals and address global challenges.
