Fitzroy Minerals Inc. (TSXV: FTZ, OTCQX: FTZFF, FSE: C3Y) has released new drilling results from the Buen Retiro Copper Project in Copiapo, Chile, highlighting wide zones of copper mineralization close to surface. The company reported results from 15 diamond drill holes in the Tenorita area, a 1.7 km trend southwest of the historical Manto Negro open pit.
Drill hole BRT-DDH072 returned 111.9 meters grading 0.97% copper from 21.1 meters depth, including higher-grade intervals of 18.0 meters at 1.59% copper from 84 meters. Drill hole BRT-DDH070 intersected 147.7 meters at 0.41% copper from 26.3 meters, including 47.0 meters at 0.88% copper from 113 meters. These results confirm consistent shallow mineralization across approximately 300 meters in the widest part of the Tenorita area, according to the company.
Fitzroy is currently operating four drill rigs at Buen Retiro: three diamond drill rigs and one reverse circulation rig. Drilling continues with the aim of completing the drill-out of the Tenorita area in August 2026. The company has completed 78 diamond drill holes totaling 13,036 meters since February 2026. A further 9,000 meters of drilling is planned for 2026 with three key objectives: advancing the Tenorita area to Measured, Indicated, and Inferred resource categories for a Pre-Feasibility Study; defining Inferred resources elsewhere on the property; and testing new exploration targets.
The company noted that the mineralization is in leachable material close to surface, which could be economically significant. CEO Merlin Marr-Johnson stated that the results keep the project on track for production in early 2028.
Fitzroy also provided an update on drilling activities beyond Tenorita. One diamond drill rig is testing shallow sulphides north of Manto Negro in the Ortuzar area, another is exploring the southern extension in the Nativo area, and the RC rig is drilling regional targets.
The qualified person for the technical disclosure is Dr. Scott Jobin-Bevans, an independent geological consultant. The company reported that QA/QC procedures, including blanks, standards, and pulp duplicates, showed no significant issues.
Fitzroy Minerals is focused on copper exploration in the Americas, with additional projects in Chile, Argentina, and Canada. The Buen Retiro project is located near Copiapo in an established mining region.
These results are the latest in a series of positive drill outcomes from Buen Retiro. Previous drilling, as reported in the NI 43-101 Technical Report, included hole 7 with 25 meters at 0.72% copper, and more recently hole 27 with 133 meters at 0.46% copper and hole 58 with 75 meters at 0.82% copper.
