Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. has reported significant progress in its exploration efforts at the Halo zone, located near Hixon, British Columbia. The company's recent drill hole, QGQ24-21, encountered a 53-meter continuous section of mineralized greenstones with multiple visible gold occurrences before being terminated due to technical drilling constraints.
The drill hole, initiated in December 2024 and completed in April 2025, intersected strong sericite-iron carbonate altered rocks hosting an intense quartz-carbonate vein stockwork. Notably, visible gold was discovered just 1.8 meters from the hole's endpoint, suggesting potential for substantial mineral deposits.
Geological experts view these findings as promising indicators of the area's mineral potential. The drill core has been fully logged and is preparing for comprehensive assay testing at ALS Canada Ltd., which will provide detailed analysis of the gold and multi-element composition.
The exploration team plans to continue investigating the zone by drilling an additional hole approximately along the same trace, targeting up-dip and northern sections of the mineralized area. This strategic approach aims to further understand the geological structures and potential gold reserves in the Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property.
The discovery occurs in a historically significant region known for gold production, with over 101 placer gold creeks documented along a 90-kilometer trend. The Halo zone's location near existing infrastructure and previous mining activities adds strategic value to Golden Cariboo's exploration efforts.
