LION E-Mobility AG (LION; ISIN: CH0560888270), a manufacturer of battery packs for electric mobility and energy storage, today published its preliminary consolidated H1 2026 figures. The company reported revenue of EUR 6.9 million for the first half of 2026, down from EUR 10.4 million in the same period last year. This decline was primarily due to a planned two-month factory shutdown in Q2 2026 for conversion works related to the transition to the high-performance NMC+ battery-pack technology.
Despite the revenue drop, LION's EBITDA remained positive at EUR 0.1 million, compared to EUR 1.3 million in H1 2025. The sales in Q2 were generated mainly from inventory of battery packs produced before the shutdown. The production resumed successfully at the end of June, as planned, marking an important operational milestone for the Group. The new NMC+ battery packs are designed for demanding applications in e-mobility, industrial applications, and safety-critical segments, combining outstanding performance with robust system architecture.
Dr. Joachim Damasky, CEO of LION E-Mobility, commented: “The successful resumption of production of our high-performance NMC+ battery packs marks an important milestone for LION E-Mobility. We are entering the second half of the year with a strong technology platform, growing market interest and promising opportunities across e-mobility and stationary energy storage. While the transition affected our performance in the first half, we remain confident in our ability to deliver significant revenue growth and strongly positive EBITDA for the full year 2026.”
In addition to the production update, LION highlighted progress in its battery energy storage systems (BESS) business. The Finsterwalde BESS project, developed in cooperation with Renoc GmbH, has completed its first construction phase. The facility currently provides 5 MW of installed capacity with 20 MWh of storage capacity, using LION Smart BESS containers designed for grid-connected applications. The second construction phase is planned to increase storage capacity to 40 MWh and installed power to 15 MW, with expansion expected in early 2027.
The BESS project pipeline is growing, and LION is positioning itself as a systems supplier and technology partner for grid-scale storage solutions across Germany and Europe. The Finsterwalde facility serves as a reference and showcase project for future customers and investors.
Looking ahead to the full year 2026, LION expects revenue to exceed EUR 35 million, accompanied by strongly positive EBITDA. Following the transition to NMC+ battery packs, a substantial share of the Group's 2026 revenue is expected to be generated in the second half of the year, with Q4 being the strongest quarter. The company also sees further growth potential in stationary BESS and is strengthening its team to accelerate expansion in this area.
