Marion County Jury Awards $1.78 Million in Semi-Truck Accident Case

A Marion County jury in Ocala has returned a verdict of $1.78 million in favor of a client of Bagen Law Accident Injury Lawyers who suffered neck, back, and head injuries after a collision with a semi truck. The accident occurred as the client, a 32-year-old nurse, was turning left from South Pine Avenue onto SW 17th Street in Ocala. Despite having a green arrow at the time of the collision, the trucking company disputed liability, arguing the client was at fault for turning left.

The trucking company initially offered no settlement, denying responsibility from the outset. As the trial approached, it offered $100,000, an amount the client rejected. The case proceeded to trial, where the jury sided decisively with the client, awarding her $1.78 million to cover medical bills, vehicle repairs, and other out-of-pocket expenses. The client was fortunate not to miss significant time from work after the crash, but faced mounting costs.

Kyle Bagen, the trial attorney who secured the verdict, has built a reputation as a dedicated trial attorney with numerous seven-figure verdicts and settlements. He concentrates his practice on personal injury and wrongful death cases, with particular emphasis on motor vehicle accidents, including motorcycle accidents. Bagen has been recognized as one of Super Lawyers' Rising Stars Under 40 and holds memberships in the Multimillion Dollar Advocates Forum, the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys, the Association of Plaintiffs' Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America (APITLA), and the Florida Justice Association.

Bagen Law Accident Injury Lawyers, founded by Steven Bagen, has represented injured victims throughout North Central Florida for more than 40 years. The firm has secured hundreds of millions of dollars for injured clients since 1983, maintaining a win percentage above 99%. The firm has earned recognition from Super Lawyers and has been named among the American Trial Lawyers' Top 100 personal injury law firms.

This latest verdict reflects the firm's approach: when insurance companies and trucking corporations refuse to offer fair compensation, Bagen Law takes cases to trial and wins. The verdict underscores the importance of legal representation in holding large trucking companies accountable for accidents caused by their negligence.
