Mullen Automotive (NASDAQ: MULN), an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has announced a partnership between its subsidiary, Bollinger Motors, and Texas Consulting & Development LLC (TCD). Under the agreement, Bollinger will provide its Bollinger B4 Class 4 trucks to TCD as part of a new bundled service offering aimed at ports and related industries.
Bollinger Motors, based in Michigan, focuses on developing all-electric commercial chassis cab trucks in Classes 4-6. The B4 trucks will be integrated into TCD’s solutions to enhance sales across various sectors, including commercial & industrial, telecom, and utilities. TCD specializes in microgrid and virtual power-plant solutions, helping companies reduce their carbon footprint.
Jim Connelly, Chief Revenue Officer of Bollinger Motors, stated that the partnership is a significant step toward helping companies across multiple industries electrify their vehicle fleets. He emphasized that TCD’s expertise in clean-energy solutions aligns well with the capabilities of the Bollinger B4 trucks.
Mullen Automotive, headquartered in Southern California, has been making strides in the EV industry. The company began commercial vehicle production in Tunica, Mississippi, in August 2023 and received IRS approval for federal EV tax credits in September 2023. These credits offer eligible customers up to $7,500 per vehicle. Additionally, Mullen's commercial vehicles, including the Mullen One and Mullen Three, have received California Air Resource Board (CARB) and EPA certifications and are available for sale in the U.S.
The partnership with TCD is expected to further Mullen’s mission to lead in the commercial EV space. It also aligns with recent company milestones, such as CARB’s Hybrid and Zero-Emissions Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) approval for the Mullen Three, Class 3 EV truck, which provides up to a $45,000 cash voucher at the time of vehicle purchase.
This collaboration not only highlights the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions but also underscores the importance of strategic partnerships in accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles across various industries. As companies continue to seek ways to reduce their environmental impact, the Mullen-TCD partnership could serve as a model for future collaborations aimed at achieving clean-energy goals.
