Nutritional Products International (NPI), the Boca Raton-based global brand management and distribution company, announced the appointment of former Walmart executive Hemant Agrahari as President. Agrahari most recently served as Director of Sourcing at Walmart's Bentonville, Arkansas headquarters, where he worked within the retailer's Health & Wellness sourcing organization.
In his new role, Agrahari will lead NPI's retail strategy and brand onboarding, working with the domestic and international health and wellness brands NPI represents to prepare them for retail opportunities and help secure placement with leading U.S. retailers. NPI Founder and CEO Mitch Gould will continue to oversee the company's long-term strategic direction and retail industry relationships, working alongside Agrahari to expand NPI's reach and capabilities.
"I've known Hemant for some time now, and I'm very excited for him to join Nutritional Products International and take our company to the next level," Gould said. "He spent years on the buy side at Walmart headquarters, and he knows exactly what a buyer needs to see. That perspective is going to be a tremendous advantage for every brand we represent."
Agrahari brings more than 15 years of experience across the pharmaceutical, health and wellness, and mass-retail sourcing industries. At Walmart Sourcing, he rose from Senior Manager of Health & Wellness Sourcing to Director of Sourcing, evaluating suppliers, negotiating programs, and helping shape how nutritional products reach Walmart shelves and customers. Before Walmart, he spent five years in Accenture's management consulting practice advising clients on sourcing, procurement, and supply chain strategy. He began his career in supply chain and strategic sourcing roles at leading pharmaceutical companies, including Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Hikal Ltd, and Novartis Healthcare. A chemical engineer by training, he holds a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi.
"I've seen thousands of brands come across a buyer's desk, and the ones that succeed are the ones that arrive prepared," Agrahari said. "NPI has spent decades getting brands ready for retail and getting them on the shelf. I'm excited to join Mitch and the team and help our clients grow at Walmart and across every major retail channel."
NPI's Evolution of Distribution® model gives brands a single outsourced team for sales, retail distribution, logistics, regulatory support, Amazon, and marketing, built on long-standing experience working with major U.S. retailers, including Walmart, Costco, GNC, CVS, Walgreens, Amazon, and Vitamin Shoppe. Agrahari's appointment strengthens NPI's leadership team by bringing direct experience from the retail sourcing side of the business, complementing the company's established expertise in helping consumer brands navigate the complexities of entering and expanding in the U.S. marketplace. The move signals a deeper push by Nutritional Products International to position itself as a bridge between brands and retail buyers.
For brands seeking shelf space in the competitive U.S. health and wellness market, the appointment could mean more informed guidance on what retailers expect. Agrahari's background evaluating suppliers and negotiating programs at Walmart gives NPI insight into buyer priorities, potentially improving the odds that the brands it represents are prepared for retail scrutiny. The leadership change also underscores the growing importance of sourcing expertise in the health and wellness sector, where product proliferation and regulatory complexity make retail readiness a critical differentiator.
