Nuestro Studios, a division of Nuestro Stories, has announced the commencement of production for its dark fantasy short film, 'El Clavito', starring Ruben Rabasa, Vivian Lamolli, and comedy influencer Alexander Arias. The bilingual film, the first of three planned by Nuestro Studios, is set to begin filming in Miami this month in partnership with CSP Media Group.
'El Clavito' tells the haunting story of a young couple who, amidst a major home buying crisis, purchase a house from a mysterious elderly man for just $1, under a strange condition that may haunt them. The film is directed by Manuel Ruiz-Barrera, who also wrote the screenplay adaptation inspired by a powerful sermon from his late pastor.
The production features a diverse cast and crew that includes Mexican Americans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, Colombians, Ecuadorians, and an Afro Latina lead actress. Collaboration with Chicano Hollywood helped to bring some of the actors on board.
Set to be ready for the film festival season in November, 'El Clavito' marks the second major project by Nuestro Studios this year, following the successful launch of the podcast series 'Bistec'. This latest endeavor highlights Nuestro Studios' commitment to celebrating Latino heritage through engaging cultural content.
