PAR LED Lights Launches Configurable PAR38 Lamp to Streamline Commercial Lighting

PAR LED Lights has expanded its commercial LED retrofit portfolio with the HyLite LED Lotus Lamp LS-1830, a highly configurable PAR38 LED lamp designed for track lighting, recessed downlights, and other directional commercial-lighting applications. The announcement, made on September 10, 2026, highlights a growing trend toward flexible, energy-efficient lighting solutions that can adapt to diverse commercial environments without requiring multiple lamp types.

Unlike conventional PAR38 lamps that require selecting a specific wattage, color temperature, and beam pattern before installation, the LS-1830 combines 45 possible lighting configurations in one lamp. Users can choose from three wattage settings (18W, 25W, and 30W), five color temperatures (2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, and 5000K), and three beam angles (25°, 40°, and 60°). This flexibility allows a single product to meet a wide range of lighting needs, from warm ambient illumination to daylight-style commercial lighting, and from concentrated accent lighting to broader general coverage.

That adaptability is particularly useful in commercial environments where lighting requirements may vary throughout a building or from one installation to another. Retail stores may require a tighter beam to highlight merchandise, while restaurants, hotels, and offices may need wider coverage. Galleries and showrooms can benefit from the lamp's CRI above 90, which is designed to provide more accurate color appearance for artwork, merchandise, finishes, and displays.

The LS-1830 uses a standard E26 medium screw base and measures approximately 4.75 inches in diameter, making it suitable for many existing PAR38 applications. It operates on 100–277VAC universal input voltage and is designed to run directly from line voltage after properly bypassing or removing any existing ballast. Typical applications include track lighting, recessed downlights and can lights, retail stores, art galleries and museums, hotels and hospitality spaces, restaurants, commercial showrooms, offices and schools, healthcare facilities, and accent and display lighting. The product is also designed for horizontal or vertical socket orientations and for use in enclosed fixtures, provided minimum space and thermal-management requirements are met.

At up to 110 lumens per watt, the LS-1830 is designed to replace substantially higher-wattage incandescent, halogen, and other legacy light sources. HyLite lists the lamp as an approximate 180W–300W halogen replacement and states energy savings of up to 90% in qualifying replacement applications. Actual savings will depend on the lamp being replaced, operating hours, and installation conditions. The lamp has a published rated life of approximately 50,000 to 60,000 hours, depending on ambient operating conditions, which can reduce relamping frequency in hard-to-reach recessed fixtures, high ceilings, and commercial track-lighting installations. It also comes with a five-year manufacturer warranty.

Additional features include IP54 protection, 4kV surge protection, intelligent temperature control, a proprietary heat-sink design, and an optical-grade, UV-protected lens. The lamp is also listed as 98% recyclable and contains no lead or mercury.

For lighting professionals and facility managers, one of the biggest advantages of the new PAR38 lamp is inventory simplification. Rather than buying separate lamps for different wattages, color temperatures, and beam spreads, the LS-1830 lets users select those settings from a single product. With three wattages × five color temperatures × three beam angles, one lamp can be configured 45 different ways.

PAR LED Lights plans to position the new PAR38 option alongside its existing PAR56 and PAR64 LED retrofit solutions, giving customers a broader range of choices for upgrading existing directional and PAR lighting systems. The introduction of the LS-1830 could have significant implications for the commercial lighting industry. As businesses seek to reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs, configurable LED lamps like this may become increasingly attractive. They offer a way to modernize existing lighting systems without the need for extensive rewiring or fixture replacement, preserving the fixtures and lighting layouts already in place. This can lead to faster payback periods and simplified procurement, as facility managers can stock a single lamp that covers multiple scenarios.

Moreover, the lamp's high CRI and selectable color temperatures make it suitable for environments where color accuracy is critical, such as art galleries and retail showrooms. The long rated life and robust surge protection also make it a reliable choice for hard-to-reach installations. As the lighting industry continues to shift toward LED technology, products that combine flexibility, efficiency, and ease of use are likely to gain traction among professionals looking to optimize their lighting strategies.
