ParkMobile and Parkopedia, both subsidiaries of EasyPark Group, are preparing to launch a comprehensive electric vehicle (EV) charging and parking service that promises to simplify mobility experiences for North American drivers and fleet managers.
The new eMobility Service Provider (eMSP) platform will leverage Parkopedia's extensive EV data and in-car payment expertise alongside ParkMobile's extensive network of 65 million users. This integrated service will enable drivers to pay for parking and charging through a single platform, addressing a significant consumer demand for unified mobility solutions.
Research indicates that 97% of US participants in a recent user experience report desire a consolidated platform for in-car payment services. The new eMSP addresses this need by offering multi-contract plug and charge capabilities, allowing users to find the most cost-effective charging sessions across different providers.
For fleet managers, the service presents substantial operational benefits. The platform will seamlessly integrate with existing fleet management systems, providing intelligent route optimization, real-time charging availability information, and consolidated invoicing. This approach can help businesses reduce operational costs and improve vehicle utilization by enabling more strategic charging decisions.
The launch comes at a critical time as EV adoption accelerates, with consumers and businesses seeking more streamlined, efficient mobility solutions. By combining Parkopedia's auto-grade data products with ParkMobile's sophisticated payment infrastructure, the new service aims to create a more user-friendly EV charging ecosystem.
Duncan Licence, Chief Product Officer at Parkopedia, emphasized the service's value, stating that it will offer significant benefits to drivers, fleets, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) by providing accessible, comprehensive mobility services.
