ROS® Updates Franchise Recruitment Manual with AI and Analytics Focus

Recruitment Operating System (ROS®) has announced the release of its updated and expanded Franchise Recruitment Manual, a resource designed to help franchise recruitment teams integrate proven principles with modern tools and best practices. The update, created in collaboration with FranMan, marks the first significant revision since 2021 and aims to reflect how high-performing recruitment teams operate today.

Art Coley, founder and CEO of ROS®, emphasized that while the fundamentals of great franchise recruitment remain unchanged, the tools and technology available to recruiters have evolved. “What has changed are the tools, data, and technology available to recruiters. Our job is to bring those pieces together without making recruitment more complicated,” Coley stated. The manual is intended to serve as a practical framework for franchise sales and development teams, outlining the primary role and responsibilities of recruiters and guiding candidates through ROS®’ proprietary 8-step recruitment process.

The updated manual incorporates several key areas of advancement, including recruitment analytics, which introduces how recruiters can use data and performance metrics to understand their pipeline and make better decisions. Artificial intelligence is another focus, with practical best practices for responsibly using AI to support recruitment execution. The manual also expands on recruiter behaviors and performance, addressing daily, weekly, and monthly habits of successful recruiters, including how and when to review performance.

Recognizing the diversity of franchise buyers, the manual provides additional context for recruiting beyond traditional individual buyers, covering multi-unit, institutional, portfolio, and other sophisticated candidates. It also strengthens guidance on candidate funding, focusing on timeless best practices rather than specific vendors. Expanded sections on FDD and recruitment process best practices aim to help recruiters guide candidates through critical stages, while modern learning and content integration explores connections with ROS Academy™ and other educational resources.

Lennon Coley, VP of Analytics at ROS®, highlighted the importance of analytics in the update. “Historically, we’ve been very clear in our belief that analytics shouldn’t be limited to what you can access in an executive report – the information is far too valuable,” he said. “We believe recruiters should have a crystal-clear understanding of their own numbers, including how they operate and where best to apply them.”

The updated Franchise Recruitment Manual is expected to advance recruiting industry best practices, policies, operations, and standards. By combining foundational principles with the latest developments in tools and techniques, ROS® aims to provide franchise recruitment professionals with a holistic approach to continuous improvement and outcomes.
