West Lane Partners has appointed Rita Sallis, the former Chief Investment Officer of New York City's $100 billion pension system, as a senior advisor. Sallis brings decades of financial leadership experience spanning public and private sector investments, with a proven track record of managing high-stakes financial environments.
During her tenure at New York City's pension system, Sallis managed investments for five public pension boards and led a team of 50 professionals. Her experience includes guiding the city's financial strategies through critical periods, such as the aftermath of 9/11 and the 2008 financial crisis, where she helped navigate a $6.4 billion budget deficit.
Deryck Palmer, founder and managing partner of West Lane Partners, highlighted Sallis's unique ability to identify and transform challenging financial situations into successful outcomes. Her expertise in institutional investment, public finance, and private equity aligns closely with the firm's mission of working with underperforming and stressed companies.
Prior to joining West Lane Partners, Sallis served as Deputy Comptroller for Public Finance, where she oversaw the issuance of over $12 billion in annual debt and launched an innovative $3.4 billion swap program. She also worked as a Principal at The Yucaipa Companies and currently chairs the Infrastructure Investments Fund.
Sallis's addition to West Lane Partners represents a strategic enhancement of the firm's leadership, potentially bringing deeper insights into complex financial restructuring and investment strategies across various industry sectors.
