Flash has announced the full U.S. release of reservable parking transactions in Waze, developed in collaboration with the popular navigation app. This integration joins Google Search and Google Maps in Flash’s portfolio, offering parking options across all three major platforms. This includes many of the world’s largest parking operators and owners.
With this integration, Flash and Waze aim to redefine how drivers find and pay for parking at 30,000 locations in North America. When drivers enter their destinations in Waze, the app suggests nearby reservable parking locations, providing details such as cost, amenities, wheelchair-accessibility, and valet options. Drivers can reserve and pay for these spots, using a digital pass to access the parking facility.
Dan Roarty, Chief Digital Officer at Flash, noted that driver behaviors and expectations are shifting. Flash's efforts to embed reservable parking and charging experiences with leading apps anticipated this change. This innovation aims to eliminate the inefficiency of circling blocks in search of parking, saving time and fuel.
Early results suggest that allowing drivers to book parking directly in their preferred navigation apps benefits both drivers and parking operators. Over 90 percent of these drivers are new customers to the parking locations. They make Google parking reservations 8.5 hours in advance and at a median distance of 22.3 miles from their destination, indicating a trend towards digital planning and trust in navigation apps.
Robert Zuritsky, Parkway President and CEO, expressed excitement over the seamless and integrated customer experience made possible by Flash’s partnerships. He emphasized that Flash’s understanding and innovation drive additional customers and transactions to parking locations.
Flash’s integrations with Waze, Google Search, and Google Maps unify operators’ availability, pricing data, and performance metrics across these platforms. These integrations complement Flash’s existing relationships with Ticketmaster, major event venues, and automakers like Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai. Flash’s developer tools and payment configurations support a wide range of interfaces, from desktop and mobile browsers to connected car dashboards and enterprise applications.
