The Shincheonji Church of Jesus claims unprecedented biblical knowledge, particularly regarding the Book of Revelation, with members demonstrating remarkable academic performance in weekly biblical examinations.
The church reports an extraordinary 99% average score on Bible exams from January to April 2025, with 99.9% of participants scoring above 90. These assessments focus on biblical prophecies from the four gospels and the Book of Revelation, with the church asserting that these exams help members deeply internalize scriptural teachings.
Former pastors who have joined the organization provide significant testimony challenging widespread perceptions of the church as a cult. Pastor Kim stated that Shincheonji enables comprehensive biblical mastery, from Genesis to Revelation, suggesting the congregation's biblical knowledge surpasses traditional pastoral understanding.
Another pastor, Gwang-seon Choi, criticized the broader religious community for potentially slandering Shincheonji without providing congregants an opportunity to evaluate the church's teachings independently. Choi argued that failing to teach biblical content thoroughly represents a fundamental failure of religious leadership.
Prior to membership, all Shincheonji members study through the Zion Christian Mission Center, which has hosted four graduation ceremonies featuring over 100,000 students, further substantiating the church's educational claims.
