HITN's youth-focused film initiative Tú Cuentas Cine Youth Fest (TCCYF) has won two Telly Awards for its interview series Tú Cuentas Cafecito, which features intimate conversations with Hispanic leaders, creatives and changemakers. The series earned a Silver Telly for an episode with Ingrid 'Superstar' Salcedo, an Emmy Award-winning broadcast executive and producer known for shaping Latin music award shows, and a Bronze Telly for an episode with Puerto Rican actress and filmmaker Roselyn Sánchez, whose credits include Without a Trace and Devious Maids and who recently directed Diario, Mujer y Café.
The awards, in the General–Interview & Talk Show category, underscore the growing visibility of Hispanic-centered storytelling in digital and television media. Cynthia Rivera, co-director of the series, said the recognition affirms HITN's five-year goal of creating a platform for young filmmakers and storytellers. 'Seeing our Cafecito series recognized with these Telly Awards is a beautiful affirmation of that vision,' she said.
Host Raymond Arturo Pérez, a Los Angeles-based television writer and former staff writer on Selena: The Series, brings warmth and authenticity to the conversations, creating a space where guests share stories that connect with audiences. The awards highlight the importance of programs that blend cultural conversation with personal narrative, especially as Latino voices gain prominence in media.
HITN Media, the parent company, reaches more than 35 million homes in the U.S. and Puerto Rico through providers like DIRECTV, AT&T U-verse, and Comcast Xfinity. The Telly Awards, established in 1979, received over 13,000 entries this year and are judged by an industry council of 250 experts.
