The Canadian Salsa Festivals Project (CSFP) will launch its newest event, Salsa at Niagara Falls, on September 12–13, 2026, marking the first time the organization brings its celebration of Latin culture to one of Canada's most iconic tourism destinations. The free festival, held along the Niagara River Parkway, will run from noon to 10 p.m. each day and includes nightly fireworks choreographed to salsa music over the Falls.
Presented in partnership with Niagara Falls Tourism, Niagara Parks Commission, Fallsview Casino Resort, and TLN Media Group, the event aims to blend Latin music, dance, and cuisine with the natural wonder of Niagara Falls. Organizers say the festival will become an annual tradition, building on CSFP's more than two decades of hosting events that unite communities across Ontario and beyond.
The lineup features a free concert by Grammy-nominated salsa artist Frankie Negrón on Sunday, September 13 at 8 p.m. Saturday's headliner is Juno-nominated Andy Rubal, joined by award-winning Latin entertainers Yani Borrell and Aiona Santana. More than 300 performers will appear on two stages, with dedicated dance zones offering non-stop lessons throughout the weekend at venues including the Oakes Garden Theatre.
Local dance schools, including MOVIEmiento Latin Dance Studio from Buffalo and Fanny Olaya, will provide world-class performances and interactive lessons. A vibrant marketplace will showcase authentic Latin cuisine and specialty vendors, adding to the cultural immersion.
"This event is a milestone for the Canadian Salsa Festivals Project," said a spokesperson. "It brings the energy of salsa to one of the world's most visited natural landmarks, creating a unique fusion of culture and scenery."
The festival is expected to attract thousands of visitors, offering economic benefits to the region. Niagara Falls already draws millions annually, and the addition of a Latin music festival could extend tourism into the fall season. According to Niagara Parks, the agency has preserved the area around the Falls since 1885 and manages the parkland where the event will take place.
Fallsview Casino Resort, a partner in the festival, overlooks the Falls and offers luxury accommodations, dining, and entertainment. Its involvement underscores the event's appeal to both local residents and international travelers. TLN Media Group, another partner, has a long history of producing cultural festivals, including Toronto's Salsa in Toronto/Salsa on St. Clair.
